Role models; do you model them

While reading about the life of Steve Jobs, in his biography, I could not but help notice that there are lots of people who made huge contributions to his life. Well it got me thinking, we all have role models. Are we just keeping them up there on the pedestal or are we doing just that, modeling them. If we are modelling them what elements of their lives are we modelling? What impact does these elements have on our own lives?
